Whilst we have always taken the ability to travel as something “normal”, with COVID19 pandemic world wide this has thrown huge challenges at us all.
As a Specialist Practice we have noticed an increase in patients seeking to complete their treatment with us as they can no longer return to the country they had the surgery done. As so many different implants are available worldwide, sourcing the components and having the correct prosthetic kits is not always possible. This can cause a lot of patients frustration as they may have to wait many years before being able to complete the treatment.
Weighing up the pros and cons of travel and potential restrictions should not be taken lightly as we have all learnt in the past year!
